Frequently Asked Questions

We know choosing the right training is a big decision, and it’s completely normal to have questions.

Below you’ll find answers to some of the most common things we’re asked about our courses, training style, accreditation, and what to expect when you train with us.

If you’re new to nail training, changing careers, or just unsure where to start, you’re very welcome here.

  • No — most of our courses are perfect for complete beginners and are a great way to kick-start your nail & beauty career.

Our advanced courses do require previous qualifications. Check our Courses page for full details on which options are beginner-friendly and which need prior training.

  • All of our training courses are fully accredited by The Beauty Guild and ABT (Association of Beauty Therapists).

These are two of the leading accreditation bodies within the beauty industry, recognised by major insurers across the UK. Once you have completed your theory, practical sessions & case studies if required you will be given or sent your certificate.

  • Your theory is completed online through The Beauty Guild’s learning portal. You’ll receive a link to sign up, access your modules, and complete the multiple-choice assessments. Each qualification has its own £25 enrolment/theory fee, paid directly to The Beauty Guild.

If you book a package (more than one qualification), you’ll complete separate theory modules — each with its own £25 fee. All theory must be finished before your practical training day, and if anything doesn’t make sense, we’ll run through it during your practical.

For HONA nail courses, your theory is completed during your lesson, but you’ll be sent the manual beforehand to read through this is all included in your price.

  • Just yourself, your lunch, a pen and any tools you have at home that you want to bring. Everything else is provided in your kits or by the academy.

  • Some courses require you to bring a model, and others don’t. You’ll receive all the details in advance so you know exactly what’s needed for your specific course.

  • Some of our courses include a kit, and our HONA courses have their own specific kit options. Others don’t include a kit at all.

Each course page clearly lists what’s provided. If your course doesn’t include a kit, we’ll guide you on the best products to purchase.

  • Wear comfortable, salon-appropriate clothing. No long, loose sleeves or hand & arm jewellery.

  • We keep classes small — usually no more than 5 learners — so you get plenty of hands-on support and feedback
